Shannon H. ...Listening to a lecture on how to clone DNA or identify a chemical functional group through infrared spectroscopy was useless for me. I didn't understand until I did it in a laboratory setting. So I am comfortable talking about topics, but also given examples, showing videos, asking questions, etc, to ensure that you actually learn and understand the material.

Jon P. ...And it introduces entirely new concepts that the student has not seen that he/she will be assumed to know when entering calculus later in his or her education. There is more abstraction than in Algebra 2 and a greater requirement for rigorous thinking. It can be a challenge to the student who didn't fully master what came before.
