...I think the best way to communicate my knowledge with others is to use simple examples, and have students complete slightly more difficult problems, with my help. I can address very specific questions, which are the kind I used to have. In my opinion, working with another is the best way to fully grasp the material taught in most advanced Math and Engineering courses.

...In addition, I coach for SAT and ACT Math, including SAT Math II. Though results are not guaranteed, I have helped students improve their grades from D's and F's to A's and B's. Most of my students started with a C or below and are now getting A's or high B's.

...Lastly, I know that everyone has a tight schedule, therefore I will be flexible when deciding on a meeting time. However, learning is a two way street and there are a few things that I will expect from the student at every meeting. The student must be respectful both of my time and of my ability to improve his/her aptitude for the subject matter.

...I originally hated math in high school, and ended up having to take remedial math at Oregon Institute of Technology when I first attended. Eventually I went to college at Kenai Peninsula (Communty) College. At that point I started loving math, and then returned to OIT.

...For my teaching style, I have the student attempt the problem by themselves while giving little hints. I try to show the students easier ways to solve problems or help them to figure out what works for them.I have completed multiple classes in Calculus and tutored college students in these subjects. I continue to use geometry on a daily basis even in my work place.
