In many math classrooms today, teachers show their students one way to solve a problem, and then the students simply mimic a series of steps. This approach does not promote conceptual understanding!

Alexander S. I have loved math and science for as long as I can remember, and I have loved working with kids as a tutor and a camp counselor since I was a senior in high school. I have tutored middle and high school students for 3 years and I have been a camp counselor for kids aged 9-16 for the past 6 summers. I am patient, observant, encouraging and respectful.
