I've had a lot of success helping younger students understand difficult concepts because I'm able to explain abstract ideas in a tangible way (kind of what you should expect from an engineer).

My background is in engineering and business, so I use an applied math approach to teaching. I find knowing why the math is important goes a long way towards helping students retain information.

Linda C. ...When they were a bit older, I realized that I missed math the most, and accepted a position tutoring AP calculus full time at a small private school. This was in 2007, and I've worked light, but regular hours there ever since, focusing mostly on teaching math, and also science. I have also accepted private tutoring students, starting at about this same time.
