Qun Y. ...I have a master's degree in mathematics. I have a son (13 years old, 7th grade), he took ACT test when he was 6th grade and received 32 (out of 36) on the math section (He was in the Kenosha News for that achievement). Learning mathematics is more about understanding than following steps. The key to success in mathematics is focus on understanding and practice to reinforce the understanding.

Angie D. ...If a student is at the end of the radius, I would prefer to find a meeting place between both locations, such as a public library, etc.. I will travel up to 20 minutes at my current hourly rate. If this is not an option, I will drive the full distance with an increase in the hourly rate. There will be a hourly rate increase of $5.00 for each additional 10 minute increments traveled.

Thomas W. ...Most of the problems are word problems; I help to provide development of the critical thinking component of these problems. I help students to break down graphs, tables, and problems to understand what is being said and done in an experiment to teach the student the concepts that they need to answer a problem. I was a UW-Milwaukee track and cross country runner for 4 years.

Larry P. ...I love geometry because it involves reasoning more than just straight calculation. The key to learning geometry is for the student to solve problems by finding the information that is implied in the problem. This involves applying the knowledge that we already know such as what are supplementary angles.
