So when tutoring this subject, I try to get students up to speed on the procedural parts in a step by step fashion (e.g. with gaussian elimination, finding kernels, images, computing eigenvalues/eigenvectors, etc...)...

Tyler M. ...Once these patterns for strategies are learned, new problems don't seem as mysterious. As with all the math subjects I tutor, I've tutored Algebra 2 a lot. Having a degree in Applied Mathematics from UCLA, I have a strong grasp of the wide array of topics they introduce in Algebra 2, from higher order polynomials to matrices; from exponents to simplifying radicals.
