...Outside of engineering, I also pursue a side career in music composition. I was raised on classical music and more contemporary music from the 50's, 60's, and I do keep up with current hits too. My forte is using classical music theory in compositions that reach further than just the classical genre.

...It's an amazing feeling when you conquer new material and it goes from indecipherable to easy as pie. My teaching style is very participation-based, sort of a mixture of the Socratic style and the 'mother tongue' style. I believe that it's important to understand not just the basis but the entire reasoning behind concepts, so a lot of back and forth discussion is necessary.
