When I taught English, I would encourage students to understand the meaning of the literature; why it was written, the time period it was written in, the characters' importance, etc.

Andrew G. ...I completed my MBA at UCLA Anderson in July, 2015. When I took the SAT the maximum score was 1600 and I received a 1500, which was in the 97th percentile at the time. After graduating from UC Berkeley, I took the GRE (like the SAT but for graduate school) and my Verbal Reasoning score was in the 96th percentile, while my Quantitative Reasoning (math) score was in the 93rd percentile.

My father was an English and French teacher (retired) at Santa Ana College (my siblings and I learned to spell, speak and write properly). I speak three languages: French, Spanish and English which gives me a better understanding of grammar and word meanings.
