Richard  K. ...After they have learned those 3 strings and can find those notes easily with the correct fingers, then I begin to add some of the notes on lower strings. Once they're able to play single notes well, then they can begin to play 2 notes at the same time. This way they can begin to add some simple harmony to the melodies they play.
