I am firm believer of ensuring the student really understands the concepts and knows how and where to apply them. While some formulas and expressions need to be committed to memory, I am not a fan of simply memorizing lots of test questions to study for a test.

More importantly, however, my PhD in Psychology (with a specialty in Cognitive Development) taught me the science behind how people learn.
