Mary M. ...Atwater has noticed that reading a paragraph or page of written materials is a lot of work for dyslexic readers who do not like to read as a result. Similar words like "pear" and "pair" add to the confusion. Discriminating between homonyms, synonyms, and antonyms must be frustrating (my opinion). Each dyslexic has different reading problems...Each teaching plan, therefore, is unique.

Katherine Marie F. ...I try to structure each tutoring session in such a way that the student can learn the material at his or her own pace and feel free to ask questions along the way. FRENCH: Having studied and worked in France, I have a feel for the way natives communicate as well as an appreciation for the difficulties one faces in learning a foreign language. Why do I tutor?

Mandy M. ...In tutoring, I would have the student read a challenging book but at the student's preference so he/she learns to enjoy reading. I have taken Anatomy while in high school, undergraduate and while studying in physician assistant's school and made A's. I also have worked in the medical field since I was in high school making anatomy a priority to know.

Stephanie B. ...I've tutored a Kindergartener, who has having trouble with reading and phonics. To review the basic phonics, we went through each of the sounds of consonants and a little bit of vowels. In addition, we did blended sounds such as fr-, bl-, etc, to encourage recognition of them in small reading passages, therefore increasing their confidence in recognizing words, and the sounds they made.
