During my time at KU, I spent 2 years teaching a College Algebra course to undergraduates at the university and also managed a tutoring group for the students.

With a strong understanding in math, your confidence will soar and you will be able to intelligently and coherently answer problems, prepare for your exam, etc. Too often doing math is a chore for many students.

During my undergraduate years at Olivet Nazarene University, I was given the opportunity to TA for three years in Chemistry, Astronomy, and Geology. It was during these times that I realized I wanted to teach for a career.

Monique H. ...I also understand that everyone does not learn at the same speed and the same way as the next person. With this knowledge, I adjust my tutoring style to the particular student. The most important goal that I will accomplish while tutoring is that the student understands how a particular answer was derived and will be able to replicate this knowledge outside of our sessions!

Susan H. ...When I attended middle school, I did well enough in math to be allowed to take Algebra 1 in 8th grade. In high school, I took the required Geometry course and then took the elective Algebra 2 and Trigonometry courses. I enjoy the study of language and have taken Spanish, German and American Sign Language.
