...I started off the session by asking them what they needed help in, as well as giving them a few questions, give them a few minutes to work on them, and then explain how they did it to me. This way, I was able to see their thinking process when it comes to them doing math. It helps in trying to figure out the best way to help the student.

My motto is, "Once I can change your mindset about math, then the rest is easy!" Many students feel as though they can not be successful when doing math, so they feel defeated before they even attempt to do the problems.

...My techniques of teaching or tutoring include working thoroughly with students, and explaining the basics of problem solving sometimes using real life examples. This is necessary so that my students are even able to take on complex problems applying the same simple basics to the problem. I make my students understand that the most complex math problems can be solved using the basics in Math.

...A good study skills program should include organizational skills, time management, note taking skills, and reading skills. Students should have an agenda that is filled out each day, and a timeline for each and every project due. Students should learn to utilize graphic organizers of various types for various subjects.
