However, the ACT (perhaps more than the supposedly more difficult SAT) makes broad use of less obvious implications of this core set. I find when students understand what they are doing, they are willing to move on and practice on their own. Math is not hard to do if there is a teacher that explains it in a simple way for the student to comprehend it.
