Charlotte E. Many people will tell you that the ability to speak a second language, particularly Spanish, is very useful in today's global economy. Even as a 12 year old, when I began studying the Spanish language, I thought this was good advice. I continued to excel in my Spanish classes all through high-school, and I decided to continue my Spanish studies in college.

Joseph G. ...In high school, I volunteered at a local community center, tutoring primary grade children in reading and mathematics. Many of these students came from lower income families who did not have the means to pay for professional tutors. This program allowed the children to keep on track with their peers, and in some cases even excel, without financial burden.
